Kindergarten teacher Katharina meets the musician Tom, who is secretly visiting his daughter Clara. He has been denied access rights because he is considered violent. Katharina strikes a deal with him: she will help him in the custody dispute if she is allowed to sing in his band in return. The music helps her come to terms with her past. Tom's puzzling outbursts of violence, however, sow doubt.
