We are now (Wir sind jetzt)

RTLZWEI shows 3rd season of the award-winning series

Helge Lodder takes center stage in his role as Hannes

on June 20 from 10:15 p.m., broadcasted on RTLZWEI

After two successful seasons from 2019 and 2020 and the award of the Bavarian Television Prize 2020 in the category “Best Youth Series,” the time has come for the free TV premiere: RTLZWEI will show the third season of “Wir sind jetzt” on June 20 from 10:15 p.m., as part of the “Week of Diversity” launched by RTL Deutschland. The theme week focuses on the topic of “Sexual Identity and Orientation,” which also plays a central role in the reunion with Laura and her clique, because Hannes is increasingly in an identity crisis. As before, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg also funded the new season and the accompanying digital concept.

The coming-of-age series from RTLZWEI and Producers at Work Film can look back on two successful seasons and the honor of “Best Youth Series” at the Bavarian Television Awards 2020. The award-winning in-house production has been convincing from the start with its authentic narration of the attitude to life of a young generation. Now the third season of “Wir sind jetzt” follows on free TV on June 20.

Hannes (Helge Lodder) is increasingly in an identity crisis. On Tinder, he texts with both girls and boys. Lost in thought, he swipes through the profiles and unintentionally has a match with Ariel (Noah Tinwa). Both eventually get involved and go on a first date. While shopping with Daniel (Gustav Schmidt), Hannes secretly buys a dress. Unsettled, he contacts a hotline for trans people and meets Kim (Adel Onodi). She is transsexual and encourages Hannes with advice. Laura (Lisa-Marie Koroll) is also emotionally upset around the one-year anniversary of Oli’s death. But then she discovers additional hate graffiti against her at school. The uncertainty about the person behind the graffiti occupies the clique and burdens Laura more than she wants to admit.

… “Wir sind jetzt” is realized by award winning director Christian Klandt, Christian Popp, producer and CEO of Producers at Work Film, and head writer Burkhardt Wunderlich. In 2020 the Bavarian Television Award presented the “Blue Panther” to director Christian Klandt for the first season of the young fiction series.
